We could not go the appointed day because they had a Feast on, a celebrating for a birth-day ... but two days later we visit ... it can be tricky there ... but the American Duke held your hand & introduced you to several people & families,  & we followed on ... You curtsied to very old black ladies & all was peaceful ... you spoke to a child who said she liked your pleated skirt & you replied yes it was comfortable even for flying with Lennie but you did not like reds and dark mauves but preferred clothes of green or blue - the two of you were talking earnestly - heads together, nodding away :  You said you liked the colours blue & green best - blue because it was the sky very often and greens were the leaves on the trees and sometimes the seas ... You said we have to fly about to look after everybody in the schools and the hospitals and all the places Aunt Margareth and TIGGY set up to look after people around the world 60 and 70 years ago =  Visit a very great success ! ” 

 A little part of the Estate runs through Harlem, from the middle of the last century (c 1850s)  - we had a Hall where they could play games and make music ... and next the Hall a place where really needy people could stay ... and ladies who had fallen on hard  times ... It was amazing what a small child gathers from its family and friends ... No, we were not black but we had a Berber grandma a long time ago and some Palestine grannies ... and the colour fades in the children when they marry very white people ... You spoke on the two boys you had just heard play piano & given one a prize for the best as your ballerina Grannie Jean judged him best ... but Telonius had to be told by his uncle to do his piano practice ... Lennie had lived in Argentina when he was very small and he had learned his piano there ...
