1944 the `all night Saturday Jazz experimental group

... thanks to somebody or other probably the AMERICAN AIR BASE over at IPSWICH ... they ate on one effort to the Dawn big sandwiches of turkey filling, coffee coming in from USA American Air Base Ipswich if you gave them a hand, light beer and Corona fizz in different colours and tastes ... all at the MAGOWAN big house in the Holland-on-Sea Gardens where Charles Magowan now had 3 grand pianos to play modern FRENCH music ...

                                                                                           

NNB:  Players had to be ready for Sunday 11 am Church in the `young Pacelli` and 2 widows impressive Church “ as we see when we visit ROME ”  – 1944-45 I recall Father Wilson, musician, turning from Altar to glare at one trumpeter in the gallery who SWUNG IT ... 1945 early summer – but perhaps he had been cheering up ANDRE MALRAUX the night before who comes to sing in our CHOIR Summer 1945 ... he is above counter-tenor in his grief, a boy`s voice, and shimmers into honey tones ... “all the young men in PARIS in the `20s learned from Alfred Deller ...”  says our Choir Mistress & organist an all round singer and musician who has sung at MILAN Opera ... it is believed that the Widower of JOSETTE may `take the ROBE` but Choir Mistress says “ with that voice he can only take the VEIL ... and the Nuns say he is “GOD`s GIFT TO YOUNG WOMEN” so we have to pull him into LIFE ...

 

She decided June 1945  “ We are going to do a FULL `1610` members of our Choir - and he will be here for some rehearsals when he can get `over` from France ... ”  He is driven from Ipswich in a jeep by two big American army men in helmets with guns = I suppose there could be SPIES still hiding ? ... I thought he Georges-ANDRE could not drive but NO he does not have confidence to drive `on wrong side of road`  they have him practice on the Airfield – ALL PLANES DIVERTED to PARIS !  When he drives me Clacton over to Uncle Harry and Thorpe-le-Soken I get out at crossroads look all ways then beckon him on if NO traffic 1945-46 :   Remember we are used to one another ... & dangers from 1930s !   I tell him Clacton is CLACTUNA and Thorpe is FORT HALL in Little DOOMSDAY Book made after William of Normandy conquered England  ... and we have been here since 92 AD at Dunwich ... as `the Redemptio` for Roman Britain ... but he is lost in his own thoughts ...

 

 

JULY 1945 –  “ The 1610”  the great MASS by Claudio MONTEVERDI has more Converts made for the Catholic Church than any Sermons ... you see Heaven ... My future mother ... whom he met in France some days Xmas 1924 when she and friend a Miss Plunket Green stayed at the BRITISH EMBASSY for the Xmas feastings ...

Andre Malraux`s daughter Florence sadly died 1918 ... how we both born March 1933 were both USED by the `Roaring 20s` mad ... and so many young people worldwide have died so early in this EMPIRE madness ...

My Aunt Julie Butler says early 1950s `Greetie there`s a film about your mother you should see it ... frighten you ...` ... 1937 that long summer CLACTON and East Anglia – She Mary Gordon my granny hears from ANDRE MALRAUX of the SPANISH war 1936 and tells him she does not agree with fighting but hearing his reasons for it she will AGREE to DISAGREE ... he has given his reasons that A STATEMENT HAD TO BE MADE ... she buys him a jacket in the Co-op Stores Clacton town ... he has this in 1957 and draws my attention to it and ALL THAT LOST TIME since then, 20 years of our lives ... and he dares bring in some of his notebooks and read them ...

 

ANDRE MALRAUX has to keep these precious little notebooks hidden in different places because of those that wish to ridicule him and tell LIES about WORLD matters ... thus I could again so easily walk about those days pre-war and just after the War 1940s  and tell him things he had not noted - thus awakening his memory ... HAPPINESS dared crawl out from under the violet leaves and IN the FALLEN LEAVES OF OUR bluebell woods Essex and EAST ANGLIA  ...

1957/1958  - Reports Arthur Malone `Detective in the Lawyer`s Gown, employed by ANDRE MALRAUX October 1957 – he felt he should see JEAN MAGOWAN swiftly and ask questions – she tells him of the purity of a Catholic marriage 1947, the destroying of it after a month by the mother of the bride – a woman Teresa Gordon Ransom who had been in prison twice but was a 1920s friend of a Duchess and various mad young of Scotland well known – people decent folk kept away from them ...

MRS MAGOWAN surprised Arthur Malone ... he learned more ... Harrington came of a SCOTLAND family ... madness was known to be there ... her reply in Malone`s Notes follows below ... She had asked a Scotland cousin  (Hetherwait ... a name like that) who said there was known to be MADNESS in this family, families ... SHE DID NOT LIKE THIS MAN in a blue car and acting as if he were in his 20s ...

Phil`s grandparents had been helped 19^th century by a seagoing Ransom when emigrating from Wales they were stranded – he had given them a plot of land on the seashores Argentine and helped them build first houses ... it was now a town ... at the moment this JOB was new to Arthur Malone who was near to Andre`s age ... but it already made him nervous ... Andre was clearly a good man ... his English better than anybody around, no slang ... that made it easy to get instructions ... Malone had excellent French but no need to use it in London ... `

Mengele has come into Colchester Museums obviously spying on me and my companions ... he gets to know my mother in February 1954 ... I am scared and tell THEOPOMPOS ... they say he has me on his LISTS because there is property in Canada ...

... it is frightening to a 19-20 year old me ... And `Mengele` uses disguise from a film studio retired man ... And he is in London society passing himself off as the HEIR to his father with a title & has entered high circles & waves photographs of himself with Aristocrats and Royals of Europe :

 

  THEOPOMPOS & other young professionals in London learn he may have killed the step-mother when he was 12 and this was later suspected but by then the Widower had married again a good woman who was a Doctor and they had a daughter to add to the other children – But at 17 years he has gone mad and may have been sent to the Continent for some weeks or months ?   The 2 years at the Norwegian school from when he is 10 years clearly was nasty to get him expelled from the school that year ... abuse and theft from young 7 year old pupils included sexual attacks on them = he may have already been using `MICKY FINN`powders on them and others ... Sedatives were widely used by medical people for serious pains ... :  

 

They `the THEOPOMPOS`  go over their information to me for clearly when I meet them I have forgot a lot of what they have said = WHY do they not understand this old 1920s MICKY FINN done to young people with money and property ?

 

It is known to Graham Greene who is in and out of Colchester Museums that I have a good memory after 1 pm and he asks me `WHY Greetha have you read all the book my father read ?`  He goes in and out of the VATICAN and brings back information 1953 on my great-great-great grandpa the INCA Yah. He says my mother does not want me to know and I must not believe her when she says that I and my father are mad ... he mentions she has been in Prison ... He is trying tell MALRAUX that  “the old woman, I mean Teresa Gordon, Andre ~ the mother of Greetha is jealous and GIVING her POWDERS to have her FORGET the day before” !   Andre says I Greta am delicate !  Graham Greene shouts  “ she is perfectly able to TALK INTELLIGENTLY WITH ME AFTER 1 PM Andre ~  I come in here to talk with CHAPMAN the highly intelligent chief Guide ~~ he can tell me things about his wartime which I need to know ... he had some time in ENSA ... I like to come in and scribble in peace up in the not used Study ... I like the atmosphere here ! 

 

BUT MALRAUX HAD HIS TROUBLES in PARIS and had just come in to Ipswich where he has the USA Air-force anytime ... He is sometime in PARIS ... rents a place rather Dutch architecture ... what our old friends of MI5 call  “ the Jan Steen Tavern ... where poor old Hero our Andre cannot find a bed ... he ends upstairs on a LILO sea bed with his boys ... he can`t get them over here in our schools ... should be in Ampleforth we hear ...”

 

12 noon - THEY PUT THEIR FISTS UP ... luckily Mr Harold Walter POULTER Deputy Curator since 1934 of Colchester and Essex Museums TROTTED IN with his skull cap on ... called out  “PUT `EM DOWN BOYS ... SEE YOU IN THE STUDY FOR ONE SHERRY in 10 minutes”   ... He has been in CHINA before the BOXER troubles 1890s and studying bronze making ... people from all over the world come in clutching bits of metal wanting to know what, age, when ...

 

IT was agreed by `the boys `not to worry Mr Poulter in his 70s and they had their sherry then went off to THE RED LION INN Colchester High Street – Poulter says they both book-in as Mr George Marlow and growl at one another over a good English breakfast ... I know no more ... except afternoon Mr POULTER said `I KNOW WHICH ONE WOULD WIN ...`  We know humour back to the IRON AGE and keep cool ...

 

Mr Poulter is a well known Yorkshire family and his mother of `the de QUINCEY` and there is a well known book popular in China and Quakers are welcome in CHINA ... A man has come waving drawings of poor peoplle by a travelling painter called DEMPSEY ... he is told to take them out of England as it is now not interested in the poor ... he should put them on a bottom shelf in Australia ... he put them exactly on a bottom shelf in NEW ZEALAND and they were found decades later ... an Exhibition last year or so shows there great historical WORTH ... some have found their families of long ago ... I would like to bring in a camp bed and sleep in the Museum and never have to go back to Clacton and hear her threats anymore ... ghosts do not frighten me ...  

 

... The MAGOWAN family know the Castle Museum well but I think they are preparing to go to Exeter and retirement at this time ... December 1953 :  It was agreed by the Staff of the Castle that `the boys ` were fighting over young Miss Ransom with her long hair in a pony tail and her swishing skirts above her ankles (Dior fashion) ... and she should choose which to marry ... Mrs Greene a Catholic Convert like he Mr Greene novelist is perhaps divorced ?  We can ALL settle it with the VATICAN for Colonel Andre Malraux is born a Catholic in FRANCE ... CASTLE calmed down for CHRISTMAS 1953 ... Mr Greene brought me some green seaside rock ...
